Physical Science

The Physics program at Armstrong Atlantic State University offers courses in Physical Science. Physical Science is a survey of the sciences that study the physical world. The areas of science included in the survey generally include Astronomy, Chemistry, Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, and Physics. The Physical Science courses are lab science courses, and satisfy core course requirements in Core Area D. Students can also obtain a minor in Physical Science.

Minor in Physical Science
Students have the opportunity to minor in Physical Science. A Minor in Physical Science can be obtained by satisfying the following requirements:

Core Physical Science Courses:
Advanced Physical Science Courses:

PHSC 1211 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT (3-0-3) [syllabus] Fundamental concepts, laws, and theories of physics. For non-science majors interested in a quantitative survey of the physics underlying the universe, including motion, energy, electricity, and astronomy.

PHSC 1211L PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT LAB (0-2-1) [syllabus]

Laboratory investigations of the fundamental concepts, laws, and theories of physics.

PHSC 1212 CHEMICAL ENVIRONMENT (3-0-3)

Fundamental concepts, laws, and theories of chemistry. For non- science majors interested in a quantitative survey of the chemistry underlying our world, including classification of the elements, basic chemical reactions, atomic structure, and earth science.

PHSC 1212L CHEMICAL ENVIRONMENT LAB (0-2-1)

Laboratory investigations of the fundamental concepts, laws, and theories of chemistry.
