The president often hangs around with other students in the Study Room, SC-2302.

The President's Message

First, something new. This web site! It's been in the works for a while, has been put off here and there because of other things, but it's finally here! I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

There are lots of things being planned for the AASU Physics Club, especially some pretty big field trips, from national labs to national monuments.

We're still working on getting a charter in the Society of Physics Students. Most of the work has been done, we just need to go over everything and submit the paper work. The Society of Physics Students has a lot to offer the physics undergraduate: job placement assistance, networking with other students and professionals, research opportunities, grad school advice, etc.

Also, I encourage all members to serve as an officer. Potential employers notice those who have participated beyond just going to class. Also, it could give you the edge in getting into the grad school that you want. Plus, it's fun and it builds confidence and skills in working with and leading others.

Have you used the study room in SC-2302? The AASU Physics Club set up the study room with the help of the physics faculty. The room provides a great central location for studying with others, getting help with problems and discussing concepts. There's also coffee!
